Galapagos Cruise - Seaman II

seaman.jpg

For those looking to explore the natural word of the islands on land and some fantastic snorkeling opportunities, the Seaman II itinerary is ideal.  M.C. Seaman II is a first class catamaran which began cruising the Galapagos Islands in 2008. She is a luxurious vessel which combines first class comfort with stability.

The Seaman II cruise was designed for people to get onto the islands and explore and the liveaboard designed for people to get below the surface and explore. However, it is possible to combine the Seaman II itinerary, or part of the itinerary, with the 8 days liveaboard itinerary.

This is a perfect way of experiencing the Galapagos have to offer – above and below the waterline

The Seaman II has a complete 15 day itinerary which gives visitors a comprehensive and exciting tour of the islands, exploring many of the islands and seeing some of the wondrous sights that inspired Darwin.

The itinerary has been structured so that it is possible to embark/disembark at certain points, and so you have the possibility of a 1 day - 5 day - 6 day - 10 day or 11 day cruise.  The variety and diversity of life one each island is the reason why the Galapagos has such a unique place in science and history.

During the tours, on various islands, you will see many endemic species: Galapagos Giant Tortoises, Penguins, Land and Marine Iguana's, Frigate Birds, Blue Footed Boobies, and much, much more.

Excursions

After all shore excursions there will be snacks and soft drinks served to welcome you back on board.  There will always be some free time for you to freshen up and relax, and enjoy a cocktail on the sun deck, before dinner is served around 7 pm. Disembarkation can be wet or dry landings. A wet landing means you should wear flip flops or sandals as you will get out of the panga (dinghy) in shallow water on a beach. For dry landings you should wear something more robust.
The catamaran will arrive at each island early in the morning. Breakfast is served around 7 am after which, those who wish to, will disembark for the excursions.

Excursions and snorkelling trips usually last around 2 hours - giving time to visit another location before lunch. Lots of islands and lots to see.  Seaman II , while you enjoy your lunch, will proceed to the next island.

All guides are certified by the Galapagos National Park after intensive training. They all have several years of experience and are keen  to share their knowledge of the wildlife, biology, geology and natural history of the islands. You will find your guide passionate about the conservation of the islands.

Service On Board

At the airport you will be welcomed by the crew and our local guide, and transferred to the catamaran. Once settled in your cabin. The guide will explain what you can expect from the cruise and the islands. There will be a small welcome party where you will be introduced to the crew. After dinner, your guide will give you a briefing and full overview of your expedition cruise on board Seaman II.
