KLM EXTEND LOW SEASON

 
In another very welcome move, KLM have extended the autumn (low) season by two weeks further into August for air fares to the Dutch Antilles - ARUBA - CURACAO - BONAIRE .

This is a recognition of the fact that  these islands are in a unique situation. They do not attract large numbers of tourists, particularly Curacao and Bonaire. These islands are not the typical European or Amercian family holiday centres which attract and encourage mass toursim.  

The families that travel to Bonaire and Curacao go there to appreciate the natural environment. The islands are a "special case" and this has become more evident given the present economic situation. The islands need encouragement to continue to protect and preserve their environment.  

Usually peak season for air fares is June 20th to 20th of August.
In 2009 the peak season will be much shorter,  June 20th until August 7th.

This extends the period families can travel at the lower fare enabling them to return in good time for the beginning of term. 

Families who would normally have to pay peak fares can travel 8th of August onwards at the lower autumn fare - 28% lower than the peak season fare. 

Bonaire and Curacao still consider August as low season. The islands are quiet and the accommodation will be at lower summer rates. Our DDD special offers still apply and combined with the lower fares available, the islands are now more accessible to families.

Good news for those of you with young children, who have discussed holidays to the islands with us in the past. We know that many parents want to encourage their children to dive, enjoy outdoor sports and  appreciate the natural environment. We also know this is vital for the future of  "our" islands.

This is an excellent opportunity for their families to enjoy these exceptional islands.
